Installing Call Pad in Your Clinic

Please read everything before purchasing and installing Call Pad software.

Recommended Hardware

Call Pad requires high-speed wifi and wifi-connected touchscreen Android tablets. Call Pad is not currently available on iOS or Chromebook OS.

We recommend this 10 inch Android tablet, which we use for professional installations.

If you choose not to use our recommended tablets, the tablets you use should run at least Android version 8.0 or at least Android (Go edition) version 8.1. We also recommend you use 10 inch tablets or larger. Smaller sizes are harder to read from more than a few feet away.

Tablet Location

Tablets for use in the clinic/treatment area should be mounted in a location visible from all corners of the room. Multiple tablets can be used for large or sectioned-off spaces. Ensure tablets are not mounted near equipment to prevent accidental damage.

Tablets for use in the office/front desk area should be mounted in a location that is safe and accessible to employees, but not patients. They may also be placed on the desk, as long as they are not within reach of patients.

Tablets should be safely charging at all times. Place tablets near wall sockets or purchase longer charging cables. Ensure charging cables do not cause a tripping hazard and are a safe distance from equipment. We use these charging cables for professional installation. They come in multiple sizes and packs of two.

Tablets and chargers should be kept a safe distance from water and other electrical hazards. Call Pad is not liable for damage to or caused by tablets.

Mounting Your Tablets

We recommend mounting tablets with tablet wall mounts that can be screwed into the wall, to ensure the tablets don't fall. There are many options available on Amazon.

Complete full setup of the tablets and Call Pad before mounting them.

Installing Call Pad

Complete all tablet setup per the tablet instructions. Go to the Play Store and download Call Pad from Circuit Crunch Labs.

When you purchase a Call Pad subscription, you will receive an email with your clinic email/password login. This gives you access to your clinic's button dashboard. Input this information when prompted by the Call Pad app and keep your password in a secure location. Never share your clinic password.

When you first log in, Call Pad will store your password so you don't have to log in every day. However, occasional app updates will require you to log in again.

Using Call Pad

On the button dashboard, tap any therapist's name to switch their button between off, on, and Send Back Patient states. An alert sound should play when a button is changed to the on or Send Back Patient states. Tap and hold a button to add a message for that therapist. All tablets connected to the system should mirror the status of the changed button and play the accompanying alert sound with a delay of less than 3 seconds.

To add or remove therapists from the dashboard or edit their button color, go to ⚙︎ > Edit Therapist List.

Each therapist button in the system is assigned a color and name tag. Both can be changed by tapping the color block listed next to their name in the therapist list. Therapist buttons can be temporarily removed from / added to the button dashboard by tapping the "eye" button located next to their name and color block. The therapist buttons can be removed permanently by tapping the "trash" button.

A new therapist can be added and their color chosen with the "Add New Therapist" button at the bottom of the therapist list.

To add to the default list of messages, go to ⚙︎ > Edit Messages.

There are two default messages that come with Call Pad: "Eval" and "Patient Early". When these messages are chosen for a therapist, an icon appears on that therapist's button.

You can add new messages to the list of available messages with the "Add New Message" button at the bottom of the message list. When these messages are selected for a therapist's button, they appear in white text at the bottom of that therapist's button. These messages can be removed from the list with the "trash" button located next to their entry in the message list.

To log out of Call Pad, go to ⚙︎ > Log Out. You do not need to log out of Call Pad at the end of every day, just turn off your tablet.

Power off all tablets in your system every night to allow updates to the tablet software and the Call Pad app.
